Romance Biggest Winners Give Back

Last week it was announced that countries in the Horn of Africa are in a state of famine--a famine which is worse than anything that's been seen in the past 60 years. The definition of a famine? 2 adults or 4 children dying every single day.

I was moved by this post at Limecello's blog. She provides details about the famine and who's affected, and calls upon the romance community (or anyone, for that matter) to get involved. To this end, many in the romance community are getting involved; they've pledged hundreds of dollars to Save the Children, a charity organization that works around the world, including in the Horn of Africa, to improve children's lives. All you have to do is comment on the blog. It doesn't have to be anything big; it can be as simple as saying "Thanks for doing this."

Now I'm thrilled to say that the participants of the Romance Biggest Winner competition are giving back by pledging money for comments, too. If Lime's blog post makes it to 350 comments, $195 dollars will be donated to Save the Children.

If you'd like to donate to Save the Children, too, please consider donating at this page, which could possibly quadruple your donation through matching grants. We also ask that you please take the time to comment on Limecello's blog. As the participants of the Romance Biggest Winner competition reasoned, we've spent much more money than $10 on fast food, even when we didn't have that money to spend. We believe giving our money to Save the Children is a much worthier cause.

Thank you for anything that you can do. Please spread the word.
